Rebellion Returns - Our Thursday Picks
Blackpool's premier punk festival Rebellion continues to attract its audience from across Europe and even further affield. This year sees the organisers delve into their collective song collections to deliver the event's most well-formed and eclectic line-up to date. Here we offer our five picks for day one of the festival (Thursday 2nd August).
The Menzingers Make Glorious UK Return
Warmth is not usually a word you would associate with the world of punk. Wild-eyed, maybe. Furious, certainly. Yet The Menzingers have always managed to balance their rollicking guitar work with a more tempered and homely sense of companionship. If there is still a punk scene then The Menzingers are the beating heart at the centre of it.
Menzingers Tour 'After The Party'
Continuing to fill large venues after five albums is no mean feat, yet somehow The Menzingers continue to expand their fanbase and fill bigger rooms a full decade on from the release of their debut album (2007's 'A Lesson In The Abuse of Information Technology'). This week, the band hit British roads once again to showcase 'After The Party'.
Music history is littered with siblings who pick up instruments and make their way into the musical wilderness and Bobby and Greg Barnett are no exception. Better known as the frontmen of Captain, We’re Sinking and The Menzingers respectively, the assembled crowd already knows that they have no shortage of anthems between them.
The Menzingers Make Brief UK Return
After the success of their fourth album, last year's 'Rented World', The Menzingers are back in the UK for a series of festival slots, a one-off headline date and a short stint supporting The Offspring.
