From the wailing "no hope" refrain of 'No Future/No Past' the album covers far more ground than many of Cloud Nothings' peers and by the time 'Wasted Days' careened into being it was always clear that we were listening to an all time classic and after it's extended eight minute run time, the one-two duo of 'Fall In' and 'Stay Useless' fully meld the punk fury with the glorious melodies.
This week sees the band back in the UK for a long-awaited tour and they are bringing the entire 'Attack On Memory' set with them, in addition to a wide range of cuts from the rest of their extensive catalogue. The tour begins in Leeds on Thursday before rolling around five more British cities; it then spills out onto the continent for a European run. At the time, the original debut album live shows were a scrappy affair which riled up chaotic responses everywhere it stopped. In the intervening decade, the band have further honed their stagecraft while doing nothing to tone down the punk excitement which soars through every Cloud Nothings show.
