Back in 2020, the band released ‘Zero Dollar Bill’, their first EP. This offering featured tracks like ‘Lebron James’, a disarming and disorientating anthem for those who refuse to tread the path. Since that point, their sound has grown and June saw ‘Snake Sideways’, the debut album, slither out of their collective minds. Cover more ground in its ten tracks than many similar bands manage over a back catalogue, it’s testament to the ways in which musicality can grow organically if you stay true to the spine of what you believe in. The run of singles leading up to ‘Snake Sideways’, beginning with ‘Happy Feet’ and spiralling through offerings like ‘Amoeba’ and ‘Moving Target’, made it clear that the album would be eclectic and invigorating, but few could have predicted the end product which eventually spilled forth.
The band are about to kick start a lengthy headline album tour which covers much of Britain before spilling out on to the continent. Across the run, they’re joined by bands who will surely be headlining these venues themselves before too long, including Opus Kink, Humour and Big Sleep.
