It's almost too easy to draw comparisons between Dornik and the late great King of Pop, but it's impossible to even hint that he's a pretender to any throne. With his debut album he revealed that his time on the road drumming for Jessie Ware had been spent soaking up modern takes on early 90s R&B and the subsequent months were spent carefully sculpting a British take on modern day soul music. The important thing to note is that, while comparisons can be drawn, Dornik still sounds unique and, perhaps even more importantly, he completely succeeds where so many others have failed.
