Since those formative moments, Dream Wife have explored increasingly eclectic territory across albums like ‘So When You Gonna…’, with tracks like ‘Hasta La Vista’ glimmering with melody and offering up anthemic singalongs while ‘Temporary’ offered moments of glorious respite. Earlier this year, third album ‘Social Lubrication’ completed a hattrick of evolutionary releases; undeniably their most fully-formed offering to date, it manages to straddle the accomplished upgrading of the punky bite we know the trio have long been capable of, while still providing room for the band to experiment sonically and lyrically. Taking things a step further than the aforementioned ‘Temporary’, penultimate track ‘Honestly’ provides the most brooding and pulsating moment of their catalogue to date.
October sees the band begin their UK tour in the suitably fluorescent setting of Manchester’s (relatively new) New Century Hall. The run features eight shows across seven cities (Bristol’s Strange Brew is treated to a double-header!) and tickets for all dates are available now. The full tour itinerary is shown below:
