While there always felt like there was sense of inevitability to Hundred Reasons making a return to the live stage, it does come as a surprise that this week’s glorious return to venues comes complete with a new album (‘Glorious Sunset’) some 16 years after ‘Quick The Word, Sharp The Action’. The album itself is released on Friday, but the band have drip-fed half the tracks over the past six months. Despite the time away from the recording studio (and each other), the tracks we have already heard cover the full spectrum of what we know Hundred Reasons have always been capable of. From the subtle yearning of ‘Replicate’ to the bolshy swagger of ‘New Glasses’ and right through to the title track, which will see this tour as an opportunity to take its place alongside the memorable anthems which have peppered the band’s creative output over the last two decades.
The tour itself commences with an intimate warm-up offering before the band are joined by old friends My Vitriol and Hell Is For Heroes and the venue sizes ramp up with a Leeds O2 Academy show on the eve of the new album’s release. With some dates already sold out, many shows are down to the last remaining tickets.
