Across the two releases we had a portrait of two very different bands. Explosive and anthemic in one instant, but reflective and brittle moments later. Somehow, with last year's career-defining 'You're Not As ______ As You Think' they managed to find an equilibrium between these two extremes and the end result was nothing short of extraordinary.
The release made ripples far beyond the ponds previously set aside for Sorority Noise, the assembled member's previous bands and, indeed, the vast majority of the band's peers. Something about Boucher's brutal honesty, Sapone's soaring production and the array of anthemic musical arrangements, hit a nerve far and wide. The band found themselves sitting in the upper echelons of End of Year lists in publications wholly reserved for bands who do not sound like Sorority Noise.
Unfortunately, in recent weeks, the temporal air of the band's existence returned and they announced that they would be taking a hiatus after touring 'YNAAYT' (a re-imagining of many of last year's tracks, with a bunch of other rarities).
Next week, the band hit the road in the UK for what might be the last time. The full tour itinerary is as follows and, until we know what the future holds for the band, we strongly suggest that you make yourself available to attend at least one show.
