Tonight Katie Crutchfield begins the British leg of her tour showcasing her, recently released, third album 'Ivy Tripp'.
Kicking off in London at the captial's Electric Ballroom venue, the tour takes in eleven cities before it eventually grinds to a halt. 'Ivy Tripp' itself is a more exploratory take on Waxahatchee's multi-layered world and, while it may be only the third release under the Waxahatchee monicker, it actually pushes Crutchfield towards double figures across her various projects and collaborations.
While her first two releases felt like extensions of each other, it feels like 'Ivy Tripp' explores Crutchfield's maturing approach and the end result feels like a new chapter in a rapidly expanding story.
